Check out Mike’s new album - ‘how many rivers

When Show of Hands decided to record their first album live, Mike was high on the list of musicians and singers that they contacted to perform alongside them. He went on to produce Spring Again for Harvey Andrews and following on from that there were sessions in Germany for Stockfisch Records as guitarist and backing vocalist on Poet Wind by David Munyon from the USA. Poet wind was nominated for the Deutsche Gramophon Prize.

Mike has appeared on albums by many artists and his songs are often covered by other performers, both live and on record. Because the John Wright Band had such a degree of success, with their recording and live performances of Not A Matter of Pride, they invited Mike to produce their follow up album. Language of the Heart featured two more of Mike’s compositions: “Time For Leaving” and “Fragile Peace” was released in 2000. Mike is also featured as a guitarist and backing vocalist on this album, which has received many plaudits for its dynamic yet sympathetic production.

No stranger to the media either, Mike has recorded several sessions for BBC National Radio (including two, Radio 1 “In Concert” programmes and has also made numerous appearances either in interview or playing live for many BBC and independent local radio stations. Mike was also delighted to represent the United Kingdom at the European Broadcasting Union festival in Kiel, Northern Germany.

In July of 2003 Mike appeared on GMTV to perform Not A Matter Of Pride on the day of the UK release of Solid Silver. According to the show’s producer, Mike’s early morning performance of this lovely song received the highest viewing figures for the whole of the three and a half hour show
